“There are no hard distinctions between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true and what is false. A thing is not necessarily either true or false; it can be both true and false. I believe that these assertions still make sense and do still apply to the exploration of reality through art. “
Harold Pinter, Nobel speech.
With the show Truth Director Bente S. Andersen and the Samovar theatre have been inspired by Harold Pinter’s Nobel speech from 2005.
We can create a picture of ourselves and our lives through the internet and social media. Is that the image we create, our true I? Or is that the way we want to be perceived?
The performance discusses the questions; What is your true moment? Who owns the truth? What is truth?
The performance is a melting pot of different cultures, genres, views on what the truth can be – and a meeting point with the audience in the end. It all ends in a common meal, a soup, where the conversation can continue and new meetings and truths can arise.
