A pioneer of Norwegian electronic music
Industrial rave tunes back in 1990.
Electrified beats ever since.
On Friday 15. February one of the pioneers of Norwegian electronic music takes to the stage at the festival meeting place and installation, TangBAR.
Mental Overdrive is the primary solo moniker of Per Martinsen, one of Norway’s most prolific and influential techno musicians. His tracks have ranged from hardcore rave techno to vibrant space-disco, and he’s always maintained a healthy balance of humour and braininess. In 2014, Mental Overdrive won a Spellemann prize for the album «Everything is Connected».
Mental Overdrive is known for the many legendary concerts he has held around the world, most recently when he headlined the club tent at Øya’17. Currently, his concerts consist of pricise tinkering on a massive telephone exchange of a modular synthesiser — experimenting with dance rhythms around complex sounds.
