  • Scene Finnmark Presents: Rhapsody in Brass

    It with great pleasure we present this concert where we have gathered the finest brass-musicians from the Scandinavian symphony orchestras. The Nordic Brass Ensemble will perform together with musicians from Scene Finnmark, Nikolay Girunyan (cello) and Nils Anders Mortensen (piano). In addition, we present an outstanding instrumentalist of our time, Russian trumpeter and soloist from the Marinsky Theatre, Timur Martynov.

    On Tuesday last, we received notification that FC Dana Karelia would be passing Kirkenes on their way to Russia for the World Cup. Please be advised that the notification includes intended good-will participation but no critical disruption of the festival.

    Knut Åsdam – Murmansk/Kirkenes

    Knut Åsdam’s new film Murmansk/Kirkenes is an experimental, medium length fiction shot on location in the border region between Norway and Russia – a region receiving increasing attention due to ice melting and rich oil and fish resources. Simultaneously, this is an area of great political tension where NATO meets Russia and whose history is closely linked to Europe’s destiny.
